Who We Are

RSU 9 or The Mt. Blue School District is committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and accepting environment where students can explore and develop their creative and intellectual abilities. We shall educate students, promote their self-esteem, and encourage them to achieve their maximum potential. Students will demonstrate the ability to solve problems and to be self directed life long learners. As productive members of our society, students will demonstrate recognition and acceptance of individual differences, and demonstrate compassion and ethical judgement. The Mt. Blue School District has incorporated volunteers in its eight schools for over twenty years. A few volunteer possibilities include assisting in a classroom, library or office, helping with special projects, sharing a career or hobby, mentoring, helping with kindergarten registration, winter fun days, or assisting on a field trip.

What We Do

The RSU 9 or The Mt. Blue School District Volunteer Program enhances all aspects of the educational process by providing student enrichment, individual educational assistance, and relieving teachers of some non-instructional tasks. As a volunteer, you might give us twenty minutes once a year or three hours a week. You may never come to a classroom, but prepare material or bake at home. Your gift of time and talent is always appreciated.
