United Way Of The Tri-Valley Area

Who We Are

The United Way of the Tri-Valley Area's vision is to seek solutions to meet immediate basic human needs, and create long-lasting positive change. We strive to unite people and resources to improve lives and build a strong and healthy community; we do this by identifying local needs and addressing their root causes, raising funds to meet those needs, and collaborating with local initiatives that create a measurable difference in Greater Franklin County. United Way of the Tri-Valley Area has been an active member of the community since 1980. The first campaign had a goal of only $2,000. Our local United Way has grown quite a bit since that first campaign, now averaging more than $400,000 each year. If you would like to be a part of improving the lives of people in Franklin County, Livermore, and Livermore Falls, consider contacting the United Way of the Tri-Valley Area!

What We Do

The United Way of the Tri-Valley Area supports non-profit programs through allocations that serve more than 12,000 people in Franklin County, Livermore and Livermore Falls. In addition, the United Way supports programs through grant writing, such as the Community Energy Challenge; a volunteer-based energy initiative designed to save money and energy by installing interior storm window panels. The United Way acts a clearinghouse, collecting donations from workplace givers, community members, and local businesses and corporations. This money is then redistributed to help agencies working in four areas of need: -Responding to Emergencies and Meeting Basic Human Needs -Strengthening Families and Children -Increasing Independence and Financial Stability  and -Improving Health. Donors may also designate their money to any organization they like, including those outside the local community. Volunteers can contact the United Way to learn about a wide variety of volunteer opportunities throughout Greater Franklin County.
