TerraCycle is a recycling program operated by the United Way of the Tri-Valley Area in the Farmington area. The Intern will work jointly with the Coordinator of the University of Maine at Farmington’s Sustainable Campus Coalition (SCC) and the Executive Director of the United Way of the Tri-Valley Area (UWTVA). The work will involve collection and sorting of TerraCycle material throughout the community.
Responsibilities:• Assist the SCC and UWTVA in implementing and maintaining the TerraCycle recycling program, which will include duties such as collection and sorting of recycled items dropped off at various locations throughout the community and campus.• Work collaboratively with the SCC at UMF on tasks and activities to achieve its mission.• Work collaboratively with the United Way of the Tri-Valley Area and other community members to creatively raise awareness about the program, and increase the amount of product collected.
