RSU73 Lunch Buddy

The Lunch Buddy program is a mentoring program for students who need extra time and attention from a caring adult. Mentors meet with a Spruce Mountain Elementary School student once a week for lunch and can also share recess time. They may go out on the playground, or stay inside and do activities (play games, read, draw, etc). The students benefit from one on one time with their “buddy” as do the mentors from these opportunities.  This new program has potential to involve many different community members who are interested in becoming a Lunch Buddy mentor. You can stay with students for successive years, offering the student valuable time and consistency building healthy trusting relationships. Lunch Buddies typically takes place for one hour between 11:30-1:00 lunch/recess time block at Spruce Mountain Elementary School located in Jay, ME.
